May Artist of the Month – Ray Felix

belkisbyrayfelix

As you know every month, Belkis NYC honors an independent artist. This month it belongs to Ray Felix. He is a Bronx born comic book illustrator with some serious talent. Ray is best known for dealing with themes such as sexuality, politics and religion. Some of his known comic titles are “LSD and X-Tasy: Villian Assassins” and “A World Without Superheroes.” Currently, Ray is participating in The Longwood Art Gallery’s Exhibition called Dream Sequence. This is part of the Bronx Council of the Arts (BCA) whose mission is to support artists and their work, especially emerging artists from underrepresented groups such as people of color and women. This exhibition is going on now through May 9, 2009. So if you are in the bronx area, I recommend you check it out. More information here.
