I recently found about about this little art show happening in Secaucus, NJ. Two guys by the names of Joe Veteri and Dan Gallo are hosting Comic Art Con, the first exclusive Comic Art Convention. According to the website this is the only show devoted solely to original comic art! No comic books, no toys, and no celebrities…just art! Don’t know about you but it sounds pretty interesting. Admission is only $10 and children are free when accompanied by an adult. If you have a chance to go here’s the info:

As you can see, the comic convention season has begun. Wizard is hosting their annual Philly Comic Con this weekend June 19-21. You can still purchase tickets here. Kids get in free. Tomorrow, June 13, The Big Apple Con is having a one day only summer convention. The best part of the show is that it is FREE! All you have to do is register here and print out the page that follows. On June 10, New York Comic Con will be hosting happy hour at Dave & Buster’s in Time Square (234 West 42nd St New York, New York). The event will be from 5:30 until 9:oopm and will have 1/2 price cocktails and 1/2 price games all night. Shadows Lie at Crash Mansion in New York City
If you love rock, you’ll love these guys. I have seen them live and they are phenomenal. They will be playing the next installment of Gotham Rocks on Saturday April 11 at Crash Mansion located on 199 Bowery (at Spring St.).
The music of Shadows Lie is a dark, intense blend of heavy guitars reminiscent of Staind, Portishead-like electronics, Days of the New type acoustic guitars, and vocal stylings ranging from Tori Amos to Incubus.
